PHOENIX (AZFamily) — The Justice Department announced on Tuesday it’s sending dozens of FBI staff members to 10 cities, including Phoenix, to investigate unsolved violence crimes on reservations, including those relating to missing and murdered Indigenous people.
Sixty personnel will be doing 90-day temporary assignments for six months in these areas. The Justice Department said the work, known as Operation Not Forgotten, is the longest and most intense national deployment of FBI resources to crime affecting Indigenous people ever.
