Incoming Storms Set to Bring Rain, Thunder to Arizona Friday and Saturday

According to the Arizona Weatherman, a couple of upper-level lows are expected to impact Arizona Friday and Saturday, 18-19 April 2025. Expect some rain showers and isolated thunderstorms to impact the state associated with these two systems.

This is an extended forecast for the weather in Arizona next weekend. An Upper-level longwave ridge will be over the state Monday through Thursday morning. There is a slight chance for upstate showers on Tuesday, but the precipitation amounts, if any, will be minimal. The more significant event will be as that ridge moves eastward of the state and upper-level troughing extends over California, then moving into Saturday another low drops down and impacts Arizona. There will be some mid-level vorticity advection with this low as well. This will be the synoptic dynamics impacting the state.
