Phoenix woman dead after car crash on Loop 202

PHOENIX — A woman is dead and a driver is facing a criminal charge after a crash on Loop 202 Red Mountain that left parts of the highway temporarily closed in Phoenix.

Officials confirmed that the crash happened shortly before 2 a.m. and involved an SUV striking a guardrail near the 32nd Street off-ramp, according to the Arizona Department of Public Safety.

The driver and a female passenger were taken to the hospital. DPS said the driver sustained minor injuries and the passenger died…
