‘The City of Mesa is deeply disturbed’: Several park rangers on leave and 1 facing felony charge after investigation into misconduct allegations

MESA, Ariz. — Allegations of misconduct against several park rangers have led to one ranger facing a felony charge and other major changes in their unit, the City of Mesa announced on Monday.

The City said in a press release that it had been investigating several “allegations of criminal activity and wrongdoing by some members of the Park Rangers Unit, which operates under the Parks, Recreation and Community Facilities Department,” and that the initial findings of that investigation left the City “deeply disturbed.”
