Chandler City Council is settling a lawsuit that will cost the city $300,000 after approving the payout at its April 24 meeting.
Kevin and Megan McCarthy, who were injured in a vehicle collision on Nov. 17, 2023, claimed that a city police aide, Tyler Fox, failed to yield for a red-light and crashed into the McCarthy’s vehicle at Ellis Street and Chandler Boulevard.
Both McCarthys suffered injuries and their vehicle had major damage. In their legal claim against the city, they offered to settle for $500,000 each. They filed the legal claim in April 2024, and a lawsuit last October…
