‘This heroic and selfless act:’ Police officer saves firefighter’s daughter from burning car

GOODYEAR, AZ (KPHO/KTVK/Gray News) — A police officer in Arizona sprang into action early Sunday morning when responding to a fiery wreck on a busy freeway.

Just before 4:30 a.m., a Goodyear officer was returning to the city after booking a suspect in jail when he saw a serious multi-vehicle crash near 91st Avenue on Interstate 10.

Officers say one of the cars was engulfed in flames and a woman was stuck inside, honking her horn in a desperate attempt to get help. Body camera video showed the officer running to help her and breaking the driver’s side window. He then pulled her from the burning car, saving her…
