A recent confrontation between Phoenix Police officers and an armed robbery suspect culminated in the use of a patrol car as a physical deterrent, resulting in non-life-threatening injuries to the alleged criminal. According to a Fox 10 Phoenix report, the incident began with an armed robbery call at a hotel near 48th Avenue and McDowell Road. Witnesses described the robbery perpetrator to officers, who, within an hour, located a man matching the description at a nearby gas station.

The moment unfolded as police were waiting for backup; the suspect seemed to recognize he was being targeted and made a brief entry into a business before emerging again. As officers tried to decisively stop him with their vehicle’s lights and siren activated, he ran onto McDowell Road, and as he appeared to reach for his waistband and reveal a handgun, the officers chose to hastily hit the man with the patrol car.
