Online Predator Snared, Maricopa County Man Gets 28 Years for Trading CSAM in Diabolical Plot to Abuse Minors

In a chilling reminder of the perils that lurk on online platforms, Maricopa County has witnessed a harrowing case involving the exploitation of children. Christopher Delaney, a young man born in July 2004, has been sentenced to a staggering 28 years in prison after he was found guilty of attempting to trade child sex abuse materials (CSAM) for the opportunity to sexually abuse two minors. This deal of horror was intercepted thanks to the vigilant work of local authorities who managed to thwart the potential abuse.

According to Maricopa County Attorney Rachel Mitchell, the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children played a crucial role when a CyberTip flagged Delaney’s alarming comments on Sniffies, a dating app. Chandler Police detectives leapt into action, engaging Delaney in conversations wherein he expressed his intent to abuse a 7-year-old boy and a 11-year-old girl, including using drugs and restraints.

Delaney, who was on probation and hindered by an ankle monitor, stipulated that the children needed to be brought to his residence. An undercover detective, feigning as the children’s parent, arranged to drive them to Delaney, setting the stage for an arrest. Upon the detective’s arrival, Delaney emerged from his home, clutching a “rape kit” that included body oil, zip ties, melatonin gummies, beverages, and instruments for drug use.
