Driver killed after crashing into telephone pole in Glendale

GLENDALE, AZ (AZFamily) — Road closures are in place after a driver was killed in a wreck in Glendale early Saturday morning.

Authorities say the crash happened near 64th Avenue and Camelback Road at 3 a.m. According to police, a man was driving a pickup truck on Camelback Road when he crashed into a telephone pole on the side of the street.

Residents in the neighborhood heard the collision and called 911. Emergency crews arrived and rushed the man to the hospital, where he later died. His name has not been released.

Investigators are still working to determine if impairment was a factor. Detectives are currently on scene working to find out what led up to the crash…
