Dobson Ranch residents left frustrated as lakes’ water levels drop

MESA, AZ (AZFamily) — Living on the water in the middle of the desert may sound odd, but it’s a reality for some communities across the Valley with man-made lakes.

At the Dobson Ranch community in Mesa, seven lakes are spread out, and the opportunity to live on one was a big draw for Colleen Leahy eight years ago. “This is the only reason why I moved down here from Scottsdale,” she said.

Several weeks ago, Leahy and other neighbors say they noticed the water levels in the lakes started going down…
