PD: Suspect shoots, kills over ‘offensive comments’ made to woman at Phoenix library

PHOENIX (AZFamily) —A west Valley man is accused of murder after police say he shot another man over “offensive comments” made to a woman outside a central Phoenix library over the weekend.

Authorities say Ray Martinez, 35, is facing a second-degree murder and a weapons misconduct charge in the death of Oscar Maldonado Jr.

Phoenix police were called out to a shooting at the Burton Barr Central Library, off Central Avenue and Willetta Street, just south of McDowell, on Sunday around 2 p.m…
