TEMPE, AZ (AZFamily) — A couple from Iran, where the husband is in the country illegally, is facing prison time after a confrontation with Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents led to threats in Tempe, prosecutors announced on Tuesday.
The Justice Department said 41-year-old Mehrzad Asadi Eidivand pleaded guilty to alien in possession of firearms and ammunition and his wife, 37-year-old Linet Vartanniavartanians, who is a naturalized U.S. citizen, pleaded guilty on Thursday to threats against a federal law enforcement officer.
ICE agents showed up at their home in Tempe on June 21 to talk to Eidivand, who had two guns, which he wasn’t allowed to have since he’s in the U.S. illegally…
