Valley teen severely burned after collapsing while walking home from school in heat

PHOENIX — A West Valley high schooler has been in the hospital for nearly a month after collapsing while walking home from school in the heat and suffering third-degree burns all over her body.

June Shaver likely had a seizure due to heat stroke on the two-mile walk in 110-degree heat, her grandfather, Larry Shaver, said.

“(She) didn’t realize she was in trouble, and she kept going,” Larry Shaver said…
