SCOTTSDALE, AZ (AZFamily) — New details have been released regarding a Phoenix man accused of intentionally crashing into a parked Scottsdale patrol SUV with a military-style vehicle, leaving an officer with minor injuries.
Lyle Dennis Harmon, Jr. is jailed on charges including aggravated assault on a police officer and aggravated DUI in connection with the collision that happened late last week.
Around 4:30 a.m. on Friday, two Scottsdale police officers were investigating a vehicle break-in at a parking lot near Thomas and Hayden roads. All four doors of an SUV were open, and it appeared that someone had rummaged through the center console.
Police said Harmon was driving a large Humvee when he suddenly rammed into the rear quarter panel of one of the patrol SUVs at a high rate of speed, while the officer was in the driver’s seat. The collision broke the officer’s taillights and blew out the rear passenger side window…
