A grand jury has indicted a 28-year-old man six months after Chris Joseph was found dead inside a car with more than 500 fentanyl pills in the cupholder next to him, authorities said.
Freddie Avila is the second person to be charged in Maricopa County under the state’s Sale of Lethal Fentanyl law, which makes it a class two felony to knowingly sell fentanyl that causes another person’s death, according to a release from the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office.
