Hundreds take steps to support children and families in north Phoenix

PHOENIX (AZFamily) — Hundreds of people spent their Tuesday taking steps to support children and families in the Phoenix area, and that’s Something Good.

About 700 people participated in the North Phoenix Kiwanis Club’s 33rd annual walk-a-thon, now called “One Step at a Time,” held at Hurricane Harbor.

Walkers included neighbors, nonprofit representatives and young sports teams who completed four laps around the park to raise money for Valley nonprofits that support children and families, including Mentally Ill Kids In Distress (MIKID), an organization dedicated to improving the lives of kids facing mental and behavioral health challenges…
