PD: Man says he shot driver in Peoria because he felt ‘disrespected’

PEORIA, AZ (AZFamily) — A man accused of shooting a woman in a case of road rage in the West Valley last month told police that he did it because he felt “extremely disrespected” after she honked at him, according to newly obtained court documents.

Rudy Sanchez, Jr., 20, is facing five felony charges in connection with a road rage shooting that happened on Oct. 11 near Loop 101 and Peoria Avenue.

Authorities said the road rage incident started on Peoria Avenue when a woman honked at Sanchez because he was sitting at a green light. After being honked at, Sanchez slowed, so the woman passed him and moved into the lane ahead of him…
