Tempe issues over 21,000 traffic cameras tickets since June

TEMPE (AZFamily) — The City of Tempe said it’s given out more than 21,000 tickets in connection with its photo enforcement program, which captures drivers running red lights and speeding. The cameras have been up since June.

“If we get people to slow down a little bit and we get people to stop at red lights, we can reduce the total number of collisions. But also by slowing people down it’s that severity,” said Thomas Haubold, Supervisor for Tempe’s Photo Enforcement Program.
