Owners of Scottsdale assisted living facility must divest after heat death

SCOTTSDALE, AZ (AZFamily) — The owners of a Scottsdale assisted living facility are barred from caring for vulnerable adults for five years after prosecutors said neglect led to a resident dying from the heat.

The Arizona Attorney General’s Office said Brookhaven on 131st Assisted Living, owned by Levi and Holly Walker and located near 131st Street and Shea Boulevard, failed to maintain door alarms required by law.
