SHIPROCK, NM (AZFamily) — A Gilbert man is facing several charges after investigators said he was drunk and caused a deadly crash in New Mexico days before Christmas.
The New Mexico State Police said Casey Wade Russell was driving his pickup truck on U.S. Highway 491 outside Shiprock, which is in the northwest corner of the state on the Navajo Nation, on Dec. 22, when he tried to pass another driver and crashed into another vehicle, killing the driver.
Russell was booked into jail just after midnight on Dec. 23 and released 14 hours later. He was later charged with homicide by vehicle, DWI, open container and limitations on overtaking to the left…
