Man arrested after killing teen he met online in Tolleson, police say

TOLLESON, AZ (AZFamily) — A man is accused of killing a teen in Tolleson whom he met online and was arrested more than 1,000 miles away, police announced Friday.

The investigation started on Jan. 28 when officers found 18-year-old Yessenia Gabriella Norman stabbed to death inside an apartment on 91st Avenue, just south of Interstate 10. The apartment was leased to 27-year-old Randal Basilio Santillan.

Detectives learned that Norman met Santillan through a social media dating site. On Jan. 15, police said Norman left her Phoenix apartment to meet Santillan but didn’t return. Four days later, her roommate reported her missing to the police.

Officers said they discovered Santillan had taken off from Arizona shortly after the stabbing and was later found in Mississippi…
