Gilbert Commission recommends controversial retail project OK

Despite citizen opposition, the Gilbert Planning Commission recommended Town Council approve a developer’s request to change zoning for a 16.14-acre commercial development on the southeast corner of Higley and Ocotillo roads.

Dubbed “Higley & Ocotillo retail center,” the parcel is within the 243-acre Marbella Vineyards planned area development zoning district in South Gilbert.
