PHOENIX (AZFamily) — The man accused of killing two Phoenix teenagers in a rural area east of the Valley will not face the death penalty.
A spokesperson with the Maricopa County Attorney’s Office confirmed to Arizona’s Family on Wednesday that prosecutors will not seek the death penalty for Thomas Brown.
The county attorney’s office declined to comment further on why the death penalty is not an option.
Brown was arrested in October 2025 in connection with the deaths of Pandora Kjolsrud, 18, and Evan Clark, 17. The teens were found dead while they were camping on the morning of May 27 near State Route 87 in the Mount Ord area of the Tonto National Forest.
Following the teens’ murders, tips poured in from the community, including from Brown. He reportedly told deputies that he was camping on Mt. Ord on May 25 and flew his personal drone in the area. He allegedly told investigators he wanted to share his drone video…
