PD: Man shot by officers after firing rounds at police helicopter in east Phoenix

PHOENIX (AZFamily) — An armed man was shot after allegedly firing at a police helicopter in an east Phoenix neighborhood early Sunday morning.

At about 2 a.m., authorities received several 911 calls from neighbors reporting shots fired in the area of 38th Street and Thomas Road. Officers went to the neighborhood and requested air support after hearing gunshots, according to the Phoenix Police Department.
