Driving school owners call Phoenix speed cameras a ‘game changer’

PHOENIX (AZFamily) — The warning period is over in Phoenix: Drivers caught speeding on camera can now be ticketed.

Officials installed speed cameras across Phoenix in February in response to what they described as a spike in serious and deadly crashes, all amid an officer shortage.

The city gave a 30-day grace period, issuing only warnings to drivers who triggered the cameras. During that time, Phoenix says the cameras recorded more than 70,000 speeding drivers…
