What Happened
On February 20, a woman pulled over near a Burger King parking lot after a minor collision, intending to exchange information with the other driver — something millions of people do safely every day.
Instead, police say the situation escalated without warning.
The man, identified as Joseph Sellers, allegedly attacked the woman suddenly, stabbing her 19 times and beating her severely. Authorities described the assault as “brutal” and “unprovoked.”

- When the woman reached into her purse, he assumed she might be reaching for a weapon
