Gunfire broke out early Sunday near 1st Avenue and Monroe Street in downtown Phoenix, leaving a man shot and rushed to a nearby hospital by friends, police said. Officers moved in to lock down the area while investigators worked the scene, and no arrests have been announced.
Police response and investigation
According to ABC15, Phoenix police officers were called to the intersection around 1:30 a.m. after reports of a shooting. While they were on the way, they learned the victim had been shot at least once and that friends had driven him to a nearby hospital. Investigators later followed up at the hospital as part of their ongoing work.
Authorities told ABC15 that no other community members were injured. Police have not released any details…..
