PHOENIX — The Phoenix Police Department released bodycam footage showing the moments leading up to officers shooting a man suspected of firing at law enforcement helicopters last month.
Several officers responded to a call of shots fired near 38th Street and Thomas Road around 3 a.m. on March 22. After reports of repeated gunfire, officers requested aerial support to identify the origin of the shots. The air support unit then observed an armed man in the backyard of an apartment.
