A quiet Avondale neighborhood woke up to crime scene tape on Sunday after a woman was killed and a man wounded in a shooting inside a home, police said.
According to ABC15 Arizona, officers were called out around 3:30 a.m. to a home near 99th Avenue and Indian School Road. Inside, they found two people with gunshot wounds. The woman was pronounced dead at the scene, and the man was taken to a hospital with injuries described as non-life-threatening.
Arizona’s Family reports the call came from the area of 103rd Avenue and Indianola Avenue, just south of Indian School Road. That outlet also reports that investigators believe the shooter knew both victims and had already left by the time officers arrived. Authorities have not publicly identified anyone or said whether any arrests have been made.
