Superior Court warns of rising ticket scam

The Maricopa County Superior Court is warning residents about a growing scam in which fraudsters pose as court officials and demand immediate payment for fake traffic violations.

The fake messages look so real that 32 people showed up at the court’s downtown Phoenix offices April 29 to fight the alleged penalties.

And there’s a threat in some of the texts that could cost people who hit links or scan a QR code, introducing malware into their devices that could drain their bank account…
