Victim identified in Phoenix homicide tied to 32-year-old’s arrest

Police have identified the man killed in an altercation inside a Phoenix home last week, an attack that led to the arrest of a 32-year-old suspect.

The Phoenix Police Department said Wednesday that 44-year-old Billy Joe Carrethers’ body was found on May 7 around 9 p.m. after officers responded to an unknown trouble call at a residence in the area of 24th and Oak streets.

Through multiple leads, detectives determined during the investigation that Carrethers had been killed by Christopher Ebanks during a fight inside of the home…
