Butler Museum appoints Pittsburgh native as new executive director

YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio (WKBN) — The Butler Institute of American Art has announced its new executive director after approving the appointment during a special meeting Thursday.

The board of trustees has named Anastasia James the new executive director. James is nationally recognized as a museum executive, curator and cultural strategist — bringing her nearly two decades of experience with her.

James received her bachelor’s degree in art history and museum studies from Chatham College for Women, and then she earned her master’s degree in curatorial studies from Bard College…
