Allegheny General Hospital has completed a $19 million expansion and renovation of its cardiac catheterization and electrophysiology labs, a major upgrade officials say will improve care and access for heart patients across western Pennsylvania.
The project includes new and expanded cath and EP suites, updated pre- and post-operative holding rooms, and a centralized registration area within the Allegheny Health Network Cardiovascular Institute.
The new facilities are the latest milestone for the Mario Lemieux Center for Heart Rhythm Care, launched in 2024 through a partnership among the Mario Lemieux Foundation, Highmark Health and AHN.
