Homeowners living in Allegheny County, Pennsylvania, may finally get to see the light at the end of a long and frustrating tunnel, after a judge ruled that the county must complete a full property reassessment within the next five years.
Trib Live reported that the ruling was handed down on Aug. 17, 2026, after an incorrect home assessment that had increased her property taxes. Now that the ruling has been made, experts estimate that thousands of homeowners, commercial properties, and even school districts will benefit from the change.
According to CBS News Pittsburgh, the last time the county had such a widespread reassessment was back in 2012, which means property owners can expect to see some significant changes, with one county representative telling the outlet that there will be “clear winners and losers” in the reassessment…
