A Consumer Alert has been issued for a restaurant in Downtown Pittsburgh.
A report from the Allegheny County Health Department says Christo’s Mediterranean Grille on 6 th Street in the Cultural District shows several violations.
Two “high risk” violations were observed.
One includes foods at unsafe temperatures in a walk-in cooler. That included blocks of feta cheese, raw salmon and raw chicken. They were between 46 and 47 degrees. That cooler will be fixed.
Hummus and tomatoes were found at 45 degrees in a server area.
Food must be at 41 degrees or lower.
Another high-risk violation was “large amounts” of roaches were found on sticky traps along with mice droppings in the corner of a server area.
A professional pest control company is scheduled to treat the facility.
Other violations included lack of a certified food protection manager on staff, lack of a dumpster and customers having to walk through the kitchen to get to the bathroom.
