Irwin woman killed in vehicle accident worked as a dispatcher for Somerset County 911

JEFFERSON TWP. ― The Westmoreland County woman killed in a multi-vehicle accident on Tuesday has been identified as Kaitlynn Beatty, 20, of Irwin, according to Somerset County Coroner Cullen Swank.

Beatty was employed as an emergency dispatcher at Somerset County 911, according to an obituary posted at the William Snyder Funeral Home website.

The Pennsylvania State Police also listed a Mount Pleasant address for Beatty in its accident report.

According to the state police report, the accident occurred at 7:16 a.m. along the Glades Pike, west of Tree Army Road, in Jefferson Township. Beatty’s car was one of three vehicles involved in the accident, but the state police provided no additional information about the occupants of the two other vehicles. The cause of the accident is still under investigation.

Swank said Beatty’s death was accidental, and the cause of death was blunt force trauma to the chest. He said she was pronounced dead at the accident scene at 9:42 a.m.
