Steelers New OC Under Serious Heat

PITTSBURGH — The Pittsburgh Steelers made the decision to hire Arthur Smith as their new offensive coordinator, and with it came plenty of reactions. While some were positive, the majority of those reacting seem to be low on the news of the team’s new OC.

There should be some optimism about what Smith can bring to Pittsburgh . He’s had success as an offensive coordinator before, helping the Tennessee Titans create a powerful run to the AFC Championship and earning Ryan Tannehill, Derrick Henry and A.J. Brown some awards and massive contracts.

There have also been some downsides, but those mostly came during his time as a head coach for the Atlanta Falcons. And even then, it wasn’t all bad.

But worse than Matt Canada? That’s what Rotoworld Football Show host Patrick Daugherty had to say when breaking down the news.

“I’ve never seen a less serious hire than going from Matt Canada to Arthur Smith,” Daugherty said. “… We found the only person uniformly worse.”

His show host, Denny Carter, agreed it was a bad move but also highlighted some positives to make things a bit less dramatic.
