Firefighters battled house fire in Pittsburgh neighborhood

Firefighters spent several hours early Wednesday morning on the scene of house fire.

Crews were called to a home on Sunset Avenue in the Spring Hill-City View neighborhood just before 4 a.m.

The street is just off of the Parkway North and large flames could be seen from the parkway shooting up above the trees.

The fire chief told Channel 11′s Lori Houy that the floors and roof of the home collapsed.

Police said the house was abandoned.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
