New Kensington is getting a Harbor Freight store and a Starbucks cafe at Riverview Plaza.
City council approved the construction during a meeting on Monday night.
The Harbor Freight will be built near the new Aldi and Starbucks will go up between Donut Connection and First National Bank.
Starbucks is expected to open in the spring. Nothing yet on the Harbor Freight opening.
They are the latest businesses to open in New Kensington.
Mayor Tom Guzzo tells KDKA Radio that in the last three years 100 businesses have opened in the town.
“We’re always working hard to attract business, there are a lot small, minority and female business and with the bigger companies coming in, it completes the picture.”
New Kensington is also attracting younger people with two breweries already open and another on the way.
