Parents accused of keeping 6-year-old zip-tied in dog crate: Pennsylvania police

BROWNSVILLE BOROUGH, Pennsylvania (WJW) – Two parents were arrested this week after investigators say their 6-year-old child was reportedly beaten and kept inside a dog crate in Pennsylvania.

According to a report from Pennsylvania State Police , troopers were called to a home in the 1300 block of Sheridan Avenue in Brownsville Borough for an unresponsive child on Tuesday, Feb. 6.

When they arrived, investigators say the home was in deplorable condition, covered with dog feces, urine and trash.

Pennsylvania State Police say, while interviewing other children at the home, troopers learned that the 6-year-old was being held in a dog crate and zip-tied.

Investigators say the child was also allegedly beaten with a broom on multiple occasions.

Pennsylvania State Police say the suspects, identified as 37-year-old Jacob William Weight and 33-year-old Mimi Ann Frost, also committed other crimes against the child.
