Man in serious condition after collision with train on South Side

A man is in critical donation after he was hit by a train on the South Side Friday afternoon.

Pittsburgh Police say it happened around 12:40 p.m. on the train tracks at 9 th Street behind Mercy Behavioral Health.

First responders found a man with “a significant laceration to his head.”

Police say a preliminary investigation suggests the man may have been trying to cross the tracks and was clipped by the train.
