Would Dolphins Trade for Steelers’ Russell Wilson As Tua Replacement?

Russell Wilson is No. 1. No, not in the Pittsburgh Steelers’ lineup … but in the crosshairs of any team looking to make a trade for a quarterback.

Young QB Justin Fields has been the guy involved in helping the Steelers to two straight wins; he’s not going anywhere any time soon. Logic, for Pittsburgh as a contender, is that also having a quality backup might come in handy.

We would argue that Wilson now represents that. But on Monday’s Get Up , an ESPN personality went another direction.

“I think he’d be the No. 1 guy you would call,” former NFL coach Rex Ryan said on the topic of what any NFL team in need at the QB position should do. “There’s no doubt you would.”

But then – and of course this is a goofy panel format where the personalities are obviously encouraged to offer headline-grabbing thoughts – Ryan’s advice took another turn.

“Why would Pittsburgh trade him? Unless it’s a first-round pick, they’re not gonna trade him,” Ryan added. “Because their situation is good. Everyone knows you need two quarterbacks in this league.”
