Pennsylvania toy company hit with lawsuit for failure to fufill $4 million in orders

HARRISBURG, Pa. (WTAJ) — A Pittsburgh-based robotic toy company was slapped with a lawsuit by the Attorney General’s office, AG Michelle Henry announced.

Digital Dreams Labs, a robotics and educational technology company, allegedly failed to fulfill $4 million worth of orders between Nov. 2020 and January 2024 while ignoring requests for refunds.

According to a release, Digital Dreams Labs marketed several in-home robots named Vector 2.0, Cozmo 2.0 and the Butter Robot. Roughly 14,000 orders for the robots were placed and most were not fulfilled.

The lawsuit states that customers who prepaid were not given refunds or updates on delays. Henry, via the suit, seeks to prohibit the company from accepting prepayment for products in Pennsylvania.

“Consumers paid significant costs for these products, never received them, and were left out in the cold when they asked for updates or refunds,” Henry said. “This suit seeks to make Pennsylvania consumers whole while holding the company accountable for neglecting buyers.”
