Consumer Alert issued for former Carson City Saloon on South Side

A Consumer Alert has been issued for a bar/restaurant formally known as the Carson City Saloon on the South Side.

Capo’s on the 1400 block of East Carson Street was hit with 15 violations after a recent inspection by the Allegheny County Health Department.

Some of the “high-risk” violations recorded by inspectors include, “severe accumulation of old debris found on food contact surfaces.”

That includes a steam table, can opener and work tables.

Inspectors also says there is improper waste-water disposal, bad plumbing, “inadequate hand washing facilities, unsafe storage of food supplies, and improper carbon monoxide exhaust.”

The Health Department adds that Capo’s failed to alert them of the name change.

The Consumer Alert was posted on Sunday, September 29 and remains active as of Monday afternoon.

Visit the ACHD’s website for any updates.

Carson City Saloon was sold and became Capo’s this past winter.
