‘Big Ben’ Questions Crucial Mike Tomlin Decision

The Pittsburgh Steelers will look to get back in the win column when they host the Dallas Cowboys on “Sunday Night Football.”

The Steelers are coming off their first loss of the season in Week 4 against the Indianapolis Colts, where Pittsburgh’s defense allowed a season-high in points in the 27-24 loss.

The game-deciding play occurred in the final minute, when the Steelers failed to convert on a fourth-and-long and gave the ball back over to the Colts, who then simply kneeled to end the game.

On the prior play, running back Najee Harris was unable to get out-of-bounds, and although the Steelers had a timeout to use to stop the clock and decide on a play, coach Mike Tomlin instead decided to let the clock run.

Following the game, Steelers legend Ben Roethlisberger called out Tomlin for the decision on his “Footbahlin” podcast.

“You’re in fourth down, you have one play,” Roethlisberger said. “You need to call your timeout; you’ve got to figure out your best play. You can’t rush that play call. I understand where he is coming from a little bit. But to me, that play is too important not to call a timeout.”
