Russell Wilson and the Pittsburgh Steelers are in action on Sunday when they take on the Washington Commanders at Northwest Stadium for their Week 10 showdown. Wilson, however, had other things on his mind on Saturday, Nov. 9, as he celebrated a special occasion in his personal life.
The nine-time Pro Bowl quarterback shared an emotional post as he sent a heartfelt birthday greeting to his father, Harrison Wilson, III, who passed away in 2010. It has been more than a decade since the Steelers star lost his father, but it is clear that he is still carrying the burden to this day.
“Missing you today,” Wilson captioned his post. “Happy Birthday to my Inspiration. Dad I love you. 14 years ago. Nov 9, 2010 you left this earth to go somewhere better… Heaven. But you left me with one thing that will forever stick with me… Your SMILE.
“Keep Smiling even when it gets hard… no obstacle is too big for God. Joy is forever. I know you got the best seat in the house. 🕊️🕊️🕊️”
Wilson’s wife, Ciara, caught wind of her husband’s emotional post and she just had to react.
