Doctors at Allegheny Health Network (AHN) Wexford are calling William Brown a Christmas miracle. Brown, a dad and truck driver, told us he was mid-route when he felt a pain in his chest and decided to pull over and call for help.
Doctors shared that if he had waited, he may not be alive today.
“It feels amazing that I am going to be able to go home and see old Alabama one more time,” said William Brown.
Brown, 38, is a truck driver, a father of nine and now a survivor.
“My hands went numb first, then it started traveling up my arms, and then my chest. It felt like an asphalt truck was over the top of me and asphalt was being poured on top of me,” he said.
On Christmas Eve, while in route to deliver a load in New Jersey, the Alabama native said he began to feel a pain in his chest. Knowing that his family has a history of heart failure, he called for help.
“I told them I am not 100 percent certain, but I think I am having a heart attack at the moment,” Brown recalled.
Doctors at Allegheny Health Network shared that when he arrived in the emergency room, he had 100 percent blockage to his heart, and was experiencing a massive heart attack. Dr. Phillip Painley told us that a sedative lifestyle and family history likely played a role.
