Victim in suicide investigation at Northwestern parking garage identified as Purdue student

The Tippecanoe County coroner has identified the victim of the suicide investigation at the Northwestern Parking garage this morning as Austin Davis Fisher, a 25-year-old Purdue student.

Purdue Police were called to the garage about 8:15 a.m. when someone reported a man had hanged himself outside, Capt. Song Kang said.

Fisher was from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania and worked at Wiley Dining Court, according to the Purdue directory. He was an undergrad student majoring in cybersecurity, Purdue spokespoken Trevor Peters told the Exponent.

According to the Journal & Courier, PUPD Chief Lesley Wiete said they believe it was a suicide. A forensic autopsy is scheduled for Monday at the coroner’s office…
