Allegheny Health Network plans to invest $43 million to renovate Allegheny General Hospital’s (AGH) emergency department and expand it by 36,000-square-feet.
The Level 1 trauma center treats more than 40,000 patients annually through its emergency department. The multi-phased project will allow the hospital to provide the highest level of care.
“A critical component of the AGH emergency department redesign is improving efficiency so we can provide better, faster care to more patients,” Dr. Bobby Kapur, AHN emergency medicine chairman, said. “This enhanced capability allows us to better serve our community, accept more critical transfers from other area hospitals and ensure those needing the most advanced care promptly receive it.”…
