‘It Sounded Like 20 Shots’: Penn Hills on Edge After 2 Killings in 24 Hours

Penn Hills is reeling after a second fatal shooting in as many days. On the evening of Monday, July 7, 2025, a male victim was shot and killed near a car-care business on Frankstown Road — less than 24 hours after a woman died in a separate shooting nearby.

According to an Allegheny County Police Department news release reported by CBS Pittsburgh, officers were dispatched to the 11000 block of Frankstown Road around 6:15 p.m., where they discovered a man with gunshot wounds behind the strip of shops. A preliminary investigation suggests he entered a car-detailing business and became involved in an argument with the owners before being fatally shot and later dying at a hospital.
